When I played racing games first, I was totally in it after 5 minutes. The wanting to be better than your friends was so big, that it's now my most liked genre. But that's not the only reason, why I love them, so on this site, I'll tell and show you why.

Reasons why I like them

I like these games because of the variety there is. I mean, every racer is different, one more, one less. But if you found the right one, you won't be bored anyway. For me, racers are like "The Elder Scrolls" for other people. To be honest, I don't even like the new part of "Elder Scrolls". It's really boring after a few hours. I could play racing games all the time.

Differences

Though racing games have them same goal (winning), they are completely different. Some racers try to get the best graphics and physics, like the "Forza" games or "Gran Turismo". Then there are games like "Colin McRae DiRT" 1-3, or "Race Driver Grid". They have the best presentation with everything, from music to marvellous locations, but not the best graphics, though the physics aren't bad either. And then there are some like "Need for Speed". Totally unrealistic, but they make big fun. The problem for me in these games is the physics and the graphics. The graphics aren't too bad, but if you've played "Forza 4" or "GT 5" you think ther's not enough details. The physics are bad, you can't change that. You can jump from houses and the car doesn't take real damage, that's my problem with it.
So now, I've only been talking about physics and graphics, but also very important is the gameplay. If the car steers like shit on a rainbow, the game sucks. But the most racers have a good, some even a brilliant steering.

There are some racers, where you may have some problems, I had some too. Some races seem, that you can't win them, but it's always possible to have success at these races. A good example here for is a longrun in "Gran Turismo 4". I tried it several times and after the 7th try I was able to win. So you only have to find a strategy that works for YOU! That's the problem, why I can't give much help here, but you can contact me, maybe I can help you with some specific problems:
